I think TS is at fault here. 

 

If 10K is a small amount to miss in taxes, 1K is peanuts. so, just pay it and move on.

Anyways IRS letter pampinchadu substancial underfilling so addition tax amount and fine. I paid addition all amount right away. Didn't pay penalty of $1000.

Spoke to employer and got missing W2 form and sent to IRS that it was a genuine mistake and asked them waive off the penalty showing wrong address on the form. iRSp vadu sent a letter again that I have to pay the penalty.

Is there a way reduce the penalty? $10K ki $1K penalty is too much. I know it was my mistake. TIA.

If you are on H1b then do not delay it try to settle it as soon as possible.. this would create a orange flag whenever you apply for a extension ....
