GunturMirchiBajji Posted March 17, 2021 Report Share Posted March 17, 2021 Why to waste money going to H&R block. 1) Download latest W7 form from here https://www.irs.gov/individuals/individual-taxpayer-identification-number 2) Book an appointment with near by IRS service center using this link https://www.irs.gov/help/contact-your-local-irs-office 3) when you call them they will ask you to bring original passport along with completed W7 form. You can also mail the completed W7 form to IRS but you need to send original passport in the mail not sure how long it will take. Good that they extended to May I am also waiting for my EAD and my wife doesn't have SSN before. While I am applying for her 485, I mentioned that she need SSN as well.
