The COVID-19 pandemic has shown how the world can come together to fight a common threat, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and added the lessons from the pandemic must not be forgotten.

Speaking at the International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, the Prime Minister said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that in an inter-dependent and inter-connected world, no country – rich or poor, in the east or west, north or south – is immune to the effect of global disasters.”

“On one hand, the pandemic has shown us how impacts can quickly spread across the world. On the other hand, it has shown how the world can come together to fight a common threat. The pandemic has shown us that the innovation to address global challenges can come from anywhere,” the Prime Minister added.

He called for the fostering of the global ecosystem that supports innovation in all parts of the world and it is transferred to places that are in need.

“The year 2021 promises to be a year of swift recovery from the pandemic. The lessons from the pandemic must not be forgotten. They apply to not only public health disasters but to other disasters as well,” he added.

While scientists across the world have developed COVID-19 vaccines, the Prime Minister — drawing attention to the looming climate crisis — said that there are no vaccines for climate change further reiterating that it would take sustained and concentrated efforts to mitigate climate change.

CDRI is a partnership of national governments, UN agencies, multilateral development banks and financing mechanisms that aim to promote resilience of new infrastructure systems to climate and disaster risks in support of sustainable development.

Yes, migrants should have taken care properly. That was a mistake and Government should own it.

But that does not mean Govnment failed to take measures to control COVID. If we compare with other developed nations like USA, UK and European countries then India has done much better job with COVID measures. We have got cases down to less than 10,000 between sep-2020 till Jan-2021. For last month, state gov and people got relaxed, cases are giving up.

Also, with Indian govn effort for vaccine we have a vaccine and India has done good job. Also, roll out of this vaccine to risky group of people across India in very quick time. Look at developed European countries, they have suspended the vaccine distribution because they found an issue with their vaccine.

So this pandemic is new to this world and especially a developing country like in India with 130 crores population, we have done much better job compared with other countries.

People here make it sound we have the worst in this world. Get a life!!!

We can never forget how lockdown was imposed in a day, impacting millions of helpless workers. Providing free flights to elite class.no transport or food provided to migrant workers.

Increased taxes on anything and everything possible. Double racing in case any small benefit is passed to common man.

Thanks to normal people and NGO's and film stars and business men (not ambanis n adanis) who has actually given their saving to directly contribute to the food n groceries n daily needs to poor.

And to add you opened another account which cannot be audited as per media

High inflation and zero income appraisal for most tax payers.
