Even if there is a medical emergency for real, people wont believe it due to timing aspect of it. 

If it is something obvious, seen by people it's a different story.

I believe it depends on situation. We had Demo/Sprint planning and other sprint ceremonies and I had 4 more working days of notice period. So, I took leave on 2 days after talking to manager directly.

why not? nenu na previous contract lo TCS implementation daridrudu ne contract ayipotundi 2 weeks lo ante D*ngay anna this friday will be my last ani..

1 year ani contract pilichi 3months lo contract ayipotundi ante evarkana kaluddi.

I did same , project needs me but employer hiring managergadito kathal padi 2 weeks notice ante, I left work place in 3 days . Project manager resource kavali ani employer ganni dobbadu, employer nannu bratimaladu I ignored his emails and calls

only sick leave... if your manager feels you did not completed the knowledge transfer properly he may extend your notice period... so better to co-operate with them.
