Ascuffle broke out between supporters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and police in the Kumbh region of Vrindavan after an RSS member accused the police of assaulting a pracharak. Several policemen were later thrashed in public while a video of the incident went viral.

The scuffle took place after some policemen allegedly misbehaved with RSS Zila Pracharak, Manoj Kumar, while he was taking a bath in Yamuna river at the Kumbh fair of Vrindavan.

The RSS pracharak was taking a bath in Yamuna and had crossed over the railing, to which the policemen raised an objection and asked him to not go into the river. The RSS workers then clashed with the police while they alleged that they were beaten up by the policemen.

Soon, RSS and BJP workers reached the area in large numbers. Members of RSS, BJP and other outfits gathered in Kotwali and shouted slogans against the police. The video shows some youths arguing with 2-3 policemen and one of them hitting a policeman on his back with a helmet while others overpower him.

BJP metropolitan president Vinod Agarwal sat on a hunger strike in front of the United District Hospital demanding action against the policemen.

The district magistrate, SSP and other police administrative officers also reached the spot soon after. Gokul MLA Pooran Prakash, Circle Officer and the Kumbh in-charge also rushed to the site. The groups protested against the police and demanded legal action against the accused policemen.

Any day i would support RSS first, even they are yogi govt police
