Sharmila to address public meeting in Khammam today

YSR’s daughter to take Sankalpam under the aegis of her mother Y.S. Vijayamma

 

Political circles in the erstwhile composite Khammam district are abuzz with excitement over “Sankalpa Sabha”, the public meeting scheduled to be addressed by Sharmila seeking to bring “Rajanna Rajyam” (pro-poor and welfare regime) to Telangana, in this fort town on Friday.

The public meeting, according to the admirers of former Chief Minister of the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy (YSR), would prove to be a turning point in Telangana’s politics as late YSR’s daughter Ms Sharmila is expected to announce the launch date of her new political party at Sankalpa Sabha.

Ms Sharmila had extensively toured the old undivided Khammam district during her “Maro Praja Prasthanam”, a State-wide walkathon, in 2013.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) headed by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, now the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, had won one MP and three MLA seats in the old undivided Khammam district in the maiden Assembly elections in Telangana in 2014.

However, the YSRCP suffered a setback following the switch over of the four elected representatives of the party to the ruling TRS, subsequently.

Ms Sharmila’s scheduled visit to Khammam, considered as the political nerve centre of south Telangana, on Friday is being viewed as a well-crafted strategy to mobilise the admirers of YSR to carry forward “YSR’s legacy.”Meanwhile, outlining the arrangements for Friday’s Sankalpa Sabha, former YSRCP Telangana State president K Raghava Reddy told newsmen here on Thursday that the stipulated COVID-19 safety precautions will be strictly followed during the public meeting slated for 5 p.m. on Friday.

He said Ms Sharmila will take "Sankalpam" under the aegis of her mother Ms Y S Vijayamma to take forward YSR’s legacy and usher in “Rajanna Rajyam” in Telangana.

He slammed the TRS government for allegedly failing to deliver on its promises to unemployed youth and other sections of society.

He charged the BJP-led Central government with meting out a raw deal to Telangana in all spheres of development.

Andhra Pradesh CM's sister YS Sharmila to hold public meeting in Telangana's Khammam

According to sources, YS Sharmila will announce the name of her upcoming political party, launch the flag and reveal party policies

 

YS Sharmila will leave Hyderabad on the morning of April 9 and reach Khamman by noon.

 

Amid Covid-19 restriction, supporters of YS Sharmila are making arrangements for her mega public meeting titled ‘Sankalpa Sabha’ in Khammam on April 9.

The police have given permission for conducting the meeting by strictly following Covid-19 rules.

The meeting will see YS Vijayamma, mother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan and wife of late YSR making a political appearance in Telangana. She will attend the meeting organised by her daughter YS Sharmila as the chief guest.

Earlier, Vijayaamma had written an open letter refuting the rift in the family. She said, “There are different opinions, but no differences between the two of them,” denying the sour relation between her two kids YS Jagan and YS Sharmila.

According to sources, Sharmila will announce the name of her party, launch the flag and reveal party policies.

It is being said that YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) is finalised as the name of the party. Sharmila will leave Hyderabad on the morning of April 9 and reach Khamman post noon. YSR loyalists are mobilising the people for the party launch meeting.

While Sharmila is preparing for the 2023 state election, she is keen on contesting elections either from Palair or Khammam constituency. In 2014 just after the bifurcation of the state YSRC won Khammam MP and two MLA seat.

Sources reveal that a popular political strategy group was hired by Sharmila to shape her political ambition.

హైదరాబాద్‌: దివంగత ముఖ్యమంత్రి వైఎస్‌ రాజశేఖర్‌రెడ్డి కుమార్తె షర్మిల ఖమ్మం జిల్లాలో నిర్వహిస్తున్న సంకల్ప సభకు హైదరాబాద్‌ నుంచి బయల్దేరారు. ఖమ్మం జిల్లా కేంద్రంలోని పెవిలియన్‌ గ్రౌండ్‌లో ఇవాళ సాయంత్రం 5గంటలకు సభ జరగనుంది. ఇందుకోసం ఆమె లోటస్‌పాండ్‌లోని తన నివాసం నుంచి భారీ కాన్వాయ్‌తో బయలుదేరారు. పంజాగుట్టలో వైఎస్సార్‌ విగ్రహానికి నివాళులర్పించిన షర్మిల అభిమానులను కలుస్తూ ముందుకు సాగారు. ఎనిమిది ప్రాంతాల్లో షర్మిలకు భారీ స్వాగత ఏర్పాట్లు చేశారు. మధ్యాహ్నం సూర్యాపేటలో భోజనం చేసిన తర్వాత కూసుమంచి నుంచి ఖమ్మం జిల్లా నేతలు స్వాగతం పలుకుతారు. ఖమ్మంలో భారీ ర్యాలీ ద్వారా బహిరంగ సభకు చేరుకుంటారు.  

 సంకల్ప సభలో షర్మిలతోపాటు వైఎస్‌ సతీమణి, వైకాపా గౌరవాధ్యక్షురాలు విజయలక్ష్మి పాల్గొననున్నారు. తెలంగాణ రాజకీయాల్లో తన పాత్ర ఏంటన్నదానిపై సంకల్ప సభ ద్వారా షర్మిల స్పష్టత ఇవ్వనున్నారు.  తెలంగాణలో రాజన్న సంక్షేమ పాలన మళ్లీ తీసుకురావాలన్నదే తన సంకల్పమన్న సంగతి ఇప్పటికే ఉమ్మడి జిల్లాల వారీ సమీక్షా సమావేశాల్లో ఆమె వెల్లడించారు. ఖమ్మం సంకల్ప సభలో తన సంకల్పం ఏంటన్నది ప్రజలకు వివరించనున్నారు.
