Right now the biggest competitor to dollar is euro but they are also caught in complex issues . 

Crypto currencies are too low tech and unusable . 

There is no alternative for dollar in our lifetimes 

china owns(in terms of investments  or economically ) parts of Africa, Middle East countries , South America and Europe too... they won't need trust but they have to bow down to there needs...

Euro is in its own problems which I don't think it will recover soon... cannot comment on crypto ... so dollar for lifetimes is big hypothetical case...

Anyway india's biggest failure in 2020 was not printing / borrowing enough money to spend on infrastructure . 

Polavaram should have been finished on war footing , more highways , more railway lines , more colleges , etc but what did modi do ? He gave some loan moratorium and few loans . 

Huge failure , they are still only selectively finishing infra projects with eyes on election .

Only 11000 crore given to polavaram till now , at this rate it will take 20-30 years to rehabilitate everyone .
