Yes bro 180 days from reciept date of 485 ,. Make sure underlying 140 is approved 1)you can change employer on h1 (if you are not planning to use ead) and file 485j as well even if yiu don't get ead by this time you are fine as yiu are changing on h1

2) if you want tonuse ead , yiu can fill i9 with ead number and file 485 j , our status will be immigrant vs non immigrant and our h1 is done

How is H1 a backup if your H1 depends on I140 for renewal? if 485 gets rejected, EAD and H1 all gone no?

This is for people with later PD days bro like 2013/2014.It will be many years until our date becomes current and meanwhile our I485 will be in pending state.So which is safe to use EAD or H1b?
