if we take out vaccine hesitancy.... 90% of county will be vaccinated by end of the year for sure..

sure it will hover around 50% by the end of the year. do you wanna bet?

this new rule is gonna slow the vaccination drive by a lot.

I don't want to argue on that. since that data is not even published.

I'm only worried about public policy. If govt is putting out false numbers, it's gonna come back and bite them hard only. so for the moment I'm assuming that vaccination really makes a difference on whether one is hospitalized or not.

those numbers are similar to what other vaccinations are showing in other countries...

even if u double the positivity percentage on what they published, its no harm.

yes I hope the same too.

but I think Modi is actually trying to actively kill people to make his friends rich.

I'm not contesting the data at all. anywhere.

only time will tell about its veracity.

Why isn't Modi trying to vaccinate every single Indian, then?

why should people pay for the vaccine?

People below 45 and those eligible to get vaccinated can still get them for free at government centers since central government procures 50% from the vaccine manufacturers.

other 50% are available in open market and for state governments to buy based on the need. Center should reimburse if state’s are unable to bear the burden

assuming this is even true.. why charge the states 2.5x times more?  why can't states be allowed to purchase the vaccine at the same rate as center? rendu public money aey kadha..

balisina yedhavalu working in corporates gurinchi I don't care.. just like they don't care about the poorest in India...

but you think in the midst of an effective vaccination drive, its a great idea to tweak the rules and allocate only 50% for the drive, and the rest to open competition... if it was 90% 10% it would make more sense..

just remember, only about 5% of urban indians make more than 50k monthly. If states are forced to buy, it means most will not be vaccinated.

I'm betting that by the end of the year just about 50% or thereabouts would be vaccinated... whereas if govt went with the current speed that it is going (which is a good one), it would have vaccinated close to 90%.

crap policy to begin with. It means that well off states should pay for the vaccine, when they could be paying for improving their health infra..

and the union govt will pick and choose those who must be reimbursed and at what level.
