The whole country stopped following  major protocols for covid.

People said first lockdown was unnecessary. Modi got blamed for lockdown. Now he left it to states to implement lockdowns if needed. 

Rumors were corona does not do anything or not that harmful were prevalent in social media.

Movie functions, marriages, birthday parties etc etc all opened up.

In my relatives they had  a birthday party in an air-conditioned hall in vizag. 400-500 people attended it, 200 people got covid from it alone. Janalu ki budhi ledhu. 

Not just vakeel saab. Look at Aranya release function, was anybody even wearing a mask? Nobody. 

Maharashtra, kerala, punjab allowed travel to UK and had a good number of people bring the UK and south Africa covid variant. Now situation is out of hand.

Only a complete lockdown or very fast vaccination will help. Nothing else.
