Covid-19 Vaccine Price: Bharat Biotech Follows Serum

Post Serum Institute of India (SII) announcing the prices of Covid-19 vaccine, Bharat Biotech too revealed its prices. However the vaccine being produced by Bharat Biotech Covaxin is more expensive. It is priced at Rs 600 per dose and it is for the state.

Following the flak from all corners, SII has reduced the price to states by Rs 100 per dose and Bharat biotech has fallen in this line. The Hyderabad based out company has announced a reduction of Rs 200 which means the vaccine for states is now at Rs 400 per dose.

“Recognizing the enormous challenges to the public health care system, we have made Covaxin available to the state governments at a price of Rs 400 per dose. We wish to be transparent in our approach to pricing which was determined by internally funded product development, several operational-intensive BSL-3 manufacturing facilities and clinical trials,” said Bharat Biotech in a statement.

Though the reduction is a saviour, the price of Rs 400 per dose is still expensive for the states considering a majority of them are planning to distribute at free of cost.

all this is sick. Instead of just vaccinating everyone for free, they are publicly haggling on the price of a dose.

even at the price of 100/- per dose, companies make 20k crores in revenue from vaccinating.

and if businesses cannot expand their capacity and make profits at that level of revenue, then they should just hand it to public sector and go take sanyas.

claiming that they can't make profit at 100/- a dose is just silly.

even more hitech silicon chips are being sold at 20rs a piece. being made in factories with investment upwards of about 5000crores.

this is just pandemic profiteering from sick assholes, with the help of the union govt.. especially Modi.

and those who don’t want to pay..will get a vaccine

and those who cannot afford to pay, will get a vaccine.

Its just some of the vested interest batches who cannot do anything but point out unnessary issues and and create more panic...

vaccine free ani announce cheyyalsindhi companies kaadhu.. Union govt. Only they have the capacity to buy in bulk and help create profits for the companies even at very low unit cost.

UK and many other countries did this...India should have done it too....60% of worlds vaccines n medicines are made in India...alantidi, manake sufficient ledhu ante...silly and stupid
