Even as reports of deaths of patients in the hospital flooded social media and were reported by local television channels, Collector Gandham Chandrudu denied that 10 persons had died by 1 p.m. due to lack of oxygen. In a late night press conference he denied that there was a problem with the oxygen supply and said all the deaths were due to complications of the COVID-19.

Mr. Chandrudu said the District Administration will institute an inquiry into the several messages sent out on the deaths in the Government General Hospital on Saturday and alleged that some people were doing it deliberately
