AP To Buy 13 Lakh Doses Of Vaccine

The State government had decided to purchase 13 lakh doses of covid vaccine by the second week of May.

This would be in addition to the 9 lakh doses to be received from the Central government.

State government said that these 22 lakh doses would be given to the people above the age of 45 years.

The government had decided to give priority to those who have taken their first dose of vaccine and waiting for the second dose.

The government had already decided to skip the Prime Minister’s call to give vaccine to all those above the age of 18 years.

As the doses are not available in the required number, the government is now prepared to give vaccine to those above the age of 45 years on priority.

Meanwhile, the government is also focussing on supply of beds and oxygen for the patients in both the government and private hospitals.

As the positive cases are on the increase, the government is working out strategy to provide more beds and give enough quantity of oxygen to the identified hospitals.
