Any experiences in dallas/ houston area.. i need to submit my passport renewal by may end ..my indian address  is not changed..but my parents not living there .. went to my native place due to pandemic...will it cause any issue ..also can i update to my usa address..i am just trying tk find ways wherr no delays and no ploice verifcation trigger due to address chnage..

Go with us adress on passport. You need to submit DL that’s it.

I submitted Passport Renewal / Tatkal  Processing to Houston Consulate.

4/06 Submitted document to Fedex

4/07 Fed ex via tracking: Documents reached VFS in the morning

4/08 Morning - Email/SMS: Your Application is received at VFS. You will receive an update once it is processed at VFS. Avg processing time at mission is 4-6 weeks except tatkal process

Note : Online VFS tracking application status showed as Invalid Inputs

4/12 Afternoon - VFS website Track Status updated- Your application is currently on Hold due to certain deficiency. Please check email for more details and send the requested documents to VFS Indian consular application center where you had submitted your application.

Pending document/ Rejection details:

          Documents                                                     Comments

  • Additional documents                          Your application is under review

4/13 and 4/14  Consulate Closed Public Holiday( Ugadi, Ambedkar Jayanthi) 

4/15 No update in VFS Portal.  Evening - Embassy Portal update - application received.

4/16 Morning VFS portal "Your application has been processed and is submitted to the mission for decision making.  Morning Embassy Portal update - Print is initiated.

4/17 and 4/18 - Saturday and Sunday closed.

4/19   VFS website no update. Embassy Portal : Passport print is done and will be delivered shortly.

4/20 Morning- VFS Email/SMS: We have received your application. Your Document is Dispatched via Courier.

4/21 Morning- Passport received.

If no change in Indian Address: 95% there will be no issue, no Police verification.

can i update to my usa address: Yes you can update Passport Printable address with valid USA address proof.

Consulates Employee's just respond support emails with copy/paste templates. 

You can expects below kind of emails:

"You can also track your application at VFS website with the help of tab listed as " Track your Application".
