The electric system of cremation is used by certain sections of the society only. The traditional funeral pyre requires around 500-600 kg of firewood, three litres of kerosene and some prefer desi ghee, and 300-400 cowdung cakes per dead body. ... In electric cremation, wood is not burned and thereare no gas emissions.

Why isnt this an option ?

These electric systems are not available everywhere.

They are running out of wood in many Indian cities. Mostly 400kg-500kg of wood is required. They are charging 20k to 30k ani vinna in some places. For poor people in India, it is hand to mouth. Many can’t afford it.

Why can't they dig and bury it

Digging is a strenuous task and requires labor. It costs money too.

It's just labor work ofcourse you need to pay them, wood ante resource which you need to buy, you can't do anything if not available. Proclainer tho digging easy, there are ways if they really want to do it

If they can’t afford wood, grave or labor, why do you think that they will be able to afford an excavator?

What they are doing is probably quick, easy and cheap.
