Invest in land and high yielding stocks.

Land value always increases while constructed part is a liability. Furthermore taxes and maintenance is the worse.

how do u invest in commercial land? loan istara?

My uncle brought some land in NC 15 years ago for just 12k. Now the builders are willing to pay him in millions.

Typical desi mentality is to buy land, house and gold..in India, it holds good as demand-supply theory works well in desi society, paisal safe.

Desi ganni america patukochina, desi budhi aithe bayataki teeyalev kada...so naturally first and foremost investment anedi by default house ae vuntadi..

10th, Inter, Eamcet, Engineering, GRE, TOEFL, F1, MS, H1, GC filing, Pendli...ie chronology order lo next vachedi House ae...so naturally desi society la poradu illu konnadu ante adoka level, back home india la kuda oka status symbol..andulo california la sontha illu ante raees level ki line clear ainatte..

So..ilanti reasons ki kuda mana desi batch ni illu konadaniki push chestayi...peer pressure ani chepochu..adu konnadu, idu konnadu kabatti manam kuda konali ani chepukovali kabati kontaru...

Now..Illu konesinam..mental satisfaction vundalante..house appreciation chusthu vundali..lekapothey nidra pattadu..

Quality of life is what matters the most.

And we must diversify our portfolio of investments...

Home is one place which gives us stability and adds quality of life.

And as long as we have people who thinks staying in a rented place is worth it, it's an opportunity To buy an investment House for home owners.

We must invest in stocks if we are in U.S. It should be a different bucket.

Just like how all of your stocks don't  perform the same way, all of your other investments will have different level of appreciations.

I agree with ts on some part, investing on house is not a good option... i know people who spend on needless things like interiors, designs etc etc stuff, while paying emis on other hand... only banks and real estate are the ones who benefit out of it.

you need a own home at some point, but I would say shouldn't overspend on it, unless you are filthy rich and don't need to bother about money..

You have no choice, you have to overspend if you want a decent one now. Unless you are living in cheaper red states.

are you guys talking about just investing in homes or just primary home ? You will definitely need a primary home, you cannot survive in a 2 bed home with kids, toys eh oka room ninda untayi. House is for kids to enjoy not us.

but what’s the point in making money and mote money and not spending it ?
