Paisal Paisal Antha commercial! For us, it’s all about emotion and for doctors, just one more patient and commercial.

My younger brother and my dad both contracted Covid. My brother had Covid last year and my dad most likely contracted the Indian variant just last month.

Brother had to be admitted to the hospital and it really affected him mentally. The isolation in the hospital, the absence of loved ones near him really took a psychological toll on him to the point where - a previously self confident man has now become very cautious, careful and circumspect man. The change has been remarkable.

My dad's Covid case was different. The first 3 days we were really worried. While I was here in the US, my brother provided me regular updates about my dad's health status. It appeared as if my dad's oxygen levels were dropping alarmingly low. We tried to find a hospital for him and now with the benefit of hindsight - I am so glad that we could not find a hospital for him.

This is because we realized later that the oxygen meter was actually faulty so my dad's oxygen levels were actually good all along. Imagine acting on faulty data and endangering your loved ones - that would have been stuff of nightmares.

In fact CDC has listed that one of the most easily preventable deaths is contracting infections in hospitals. So, please only go the hospital if it is absolutely necessary. Do not panic and rush to the hospital for no reason - you may actually be jeopardizing the health of an otherwise healthy individual.

Anyway back to my dad - he isolated at home and followed all the instructions strictly and he eventually recovered without any incident.

But it is scary to think that out of 3 of my own family members 2 got it - brother and dad.  One of our close family friends died at the age of 50 after she contracted Covid. At least 3 relatives that I know of in my family passed away due to Covid.

Please be really careful, take all precautions and do not venture out unless it is absolutely necessary. While you maybe healthy and young - remember - you can still be a carrier and infect your older parents, grand parents etc.,

And to be honest now with WHO declaring the Indian variant as "Variant of Concern" - even younger people are dying.

So just please be careful and stay home as much as possible.

Don't get anygry on doctors, system is corrupt. Hospitals and their staff.

If you want to solve india's problem = convert all indians to one belief(impossible) or fccckindia
