Politics CREDITS: https://twitter.com/Kill_BillPandey/status/1393526031047303168 IndiaCOVID19Update TIMELINE OF THE COVID CATASTROPHE Why is India alone so badly affected by covid this time round? ◾March 2020: Fosun Pharma of China invests $135 million with BioNTech to collaborate and develop 300 million doses of mRNA vaccines. ◾May 2020: The US federal government invests $12 billion in six pharma companies to collaborate with and develop vaccines for the US population at warp speed. The European Union invests $210 million in AstraZeneca and Oxford to develop vaccines. Russia invests $125 million to develop vaccines by Gamalaya Institute. China invests $562 million in four pharma companies to develop and design vaccines. 🟧 What did the GoI do? Banged on plates. Argued about the death of an actor and his manager. Arrested people for possessing weed. It was sheer luck that AstraZeneca chose the Serum Institute of India to manufacture a billion doses, and Adar Poonawala made a cross deal to supply, from these billion doses, a 10th, or 10%, to the GoI. Even then, we did not place any orders. Narendra Modi could have placed an order right then for 1 billion doses and paid $2.18 billion - but no. ◾September 2020: Covaxin thinks it can develop vaccines. Yet, the GoI doesn't invest 50 paise in Bharat Biotech to scale up operation ◾November 2020: Sinovac, Sinopharm, Sputnik, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna have all paid off their investments. Their vaccines are ready. 🟧 What does India do? Still refuses to place orders for vaccines from SII. Still doesn't place orders from Bharat Biotech for Covaxin. Plays Diwali. Passes loony farm laws and causes a buildup of people for months and months and months. ◾January-March 2021: China, Russia, the US, and the EU begin mass vaccinations, thanks to a steady supply of vaccines already ordered. 🟧 What does India do? India gets doses from SII as part of its AstraZeneca deal. Not a single order from the GoI yet. India makes a speech that India will save humanity. India exports 25 million doses for free (from its 100 million doses) to neighbours as part of vaccine diplomacy. As a private company, the SII exports 34 million doses to the EU and 18 million doses to WHO under Covax. (This has nothing to do with the GoI.) India holds election rallies in Tamil Nadu, Bengal, Kerala, and Assam under an impotent Election Commission. Not one word about masks or safety and so on. ◾April 2021: All vaccination programmes in the US, the EU, China, and Russia are going strong, with 4-5 vaccines developed and enough materials secured. 🟧 What does India do? Hijack vaccines meant and paid for by other countries and prevent exports. The GoI hijacks 100 million vaccines meant for the EU (78 million) and WHO (22 million). This causes huge delays for Poonawala and negatively impacts the EU. Meanwhile the Kumbh Mela is celebrated with pomp and joy. The Bungler Supremo chants "Didi o didi", with 1.8 lakh cases a day and rising. Finally, the GoI pays for the 100 million vaccines it hijacked and orders another 110 million vaccines. Even now, it doesn't place orders for 400 million (or 500 million or 600 million) but for a paltry 110 million vaccines. Under pressure, however, the GoI grants the SII ₹3,000-crore as advance against delivery. The US is poised to vaccinate 60% willing adults by July 2021. The EU is poised to vaccinate 70% of all adults by September 2021. China is on its way to vaccinate 40% of its population - plus a further 200 million of the rest of the world - by September 2021. Russia is on its way to vaccinate 50% of its population by September 2021 - plus a further 700 million of the rest of the world by December 2021 Adar Poonawala hs fled India.He might not come back.He may take British citizenship and fulfil his AstraZeneca orders to WHO and the EU We have no supply of vaccines, and are begging from the whole world. We have only 110-million orders from the SII paid for, yet we demand more commitments from it for 200-400 million doses. We have new 400,00 cases and 4,000 deaths a day. 🟧 What did India do? It did not collaborate with and invest in top pharma companies like the other governments did. It ignored warnings, and allowed illiterate, moronic politicians and the spineless lackey EC to destroy us with rallies, and have the home ministry allow the Kumbh Mela. Even today, India has not ordered a steady supply of vaccines from any country in the world. US, EU lo regulations and instructions were also very clear and at the same they have had their lockdowns and other restrictions keeping in mind of their economic situations. Mari India ?
