COVID-19 relief: Kenya donates 12 tons of food products to India

Kenya has donated 12 tonnes of food products to India as part of its COVID-19 relief efforts, a statement said on Friday. The east African country has sent 12 tonnes of tea, coffee and groundnut produced locally to the Indian Red Cross Society, it said adding that the packets will be distributed across Maharashtra with food aid.

Why is it surprising? If you have visited Africa, you will notice that many cities are well developed. Moreover, the Chinese have invested heavily in African countries - a lot in Kenya specifically (roads and railway lines).There are actually many Chinese living there already. You can actually find authentic Chinese restaurants in Nairobi.

Whatever it is, they are doing good for themselves. What is the point of saying “Even Kenya donated”? Ye vallu donate cheyakoodadha?

So how does it work? Does a country put up something that they accept Donations? Obviously aatmabhimanam tho india might not have asked or will take.
