Telugu brahmins in general are more integrated in to telugu society than tamil ones. Most are reasonably nice people. But after this sanghi thing some started these games again. But for tamil brahmins other tamils came from a differnt planet - no identification at all.

yes. this particular girl spoke more tamil slang wprds than I ever did.

maybe tens of people will be influenced.. no danger

he creates hate mongers though. He knows where to stop, his dumb followers don't.

you have to understand Swamy is not the regular Hindutva fcuk. He's a complicated guy with his own ambitions. but most of what he spouts in public arena is trash. high school level stuff, that his followers eat up because the guy has a degree from harvard.

He's more trying to be like william buckley, than adi shankaracharya.

he's smart enough to know and push for diluting caste power in areas that are convenient to him, and strengthen them in areas that are convenient to his group.

you see, maintaining caste hegemony is a task that requires a lot of social engineering. Its not as simple as slapping thighs and talking about blood and breed.

He wants the caste institutions, places that give their group the power to become more powerful. That's why he will fight to get temples back into 'peoples hands', which means into private trusts he can influence.

But he wants the caste identity itself to be loose and informal. It may be confusing, and I'm not able to explain it properly. Informal associations actually help guys like Swamy.. but not everyone in their caste.

so is he casteist or is he not? He's more accurately described as a traditional conservative. It comes with casteist elements too.

this is my opinion on him.. so, sometimes I think India needs some conservative influence when people get too liberal and the opposite when they get too conservative to become bigotry level..

India is not liberal at all. not even a little bit.

other than naxals and maoists, India is a deeply conservative and religious nation.
