New job lo 8 hours lo 6 hours meetings

yeah , tell me , last month I had 7-8 hours meetings for an entire month..

told my director that I can not take it , he told me to drop once my updates are done

so now , I let the meeting organizer know that I will drop early once my updates are done for a few meetings , reduced my meeting load a lot..

not every case is same when you are a scrum master/product owner for multiple applications.

again the whole point is many people take this as an advantage to escape work.. as there are two categories

 

run the company & change the company.. these meetings are towards RTC. 

 

being on management side, the focus is on CTC. so 

1) be decisive whether you are required for the meeting(are you contributing or you just need to know outcome)

2) Fix the agenda a day or two ahead

3) discuss in the boundaries of Agenda and push not  deviate

 

these will definitely reduce stress , and parallel work is something you need to learn

yeah , did a PO role sometime back , had to drive few meetings back then , now its a different torture , too many meetings where I'm expected to drive and too many meeting where I'm needed to talk about updates (I hate these updates meetings) , nothing comes out of them so dropping those..
