India is not its competitor in even a single metric.

See, I don't have any knowledge of the 'geopolitics' involved here, but just a casual observation that China is in the midst of a serious domestic trouble with a lagging economy (by their standards). The Ladakh scuffle, and whatever this thing is, seems just a ploy by the chinese to whip up nationalist sentiments to crush the dissidents inside.

Similarly India also is probably using this opportunity to detract from complete non-governance at the union level.

Where does the US come into this picture at all? except as a disinterested bystander.

China is the undisputed leader in Asia.

India should learn to deal with it. and work on keeping its own house under order.

instead of silly projections about being a future power.

Even Japan and Korea have learnt to shut up and outsourced most of their defense to US.

These people are extremely delusional , they don't understand  that india is China's pakistan .  A nation which has several times smaller economy which it thinks it is a equal to but deep down all of them know  the only thing india can match china is population

There isn't a single important sector where india is can match china , aside from agriculture
