Are you sure va? How well do you know about Tamil culture when you state that in an average home women practice singing and dancing? Naa jeevitham lo majority TN lone unna and never saw women dancing and singing in an average home, more or less manalage undevallu in fact a bit more traditional and conservative.

Konchem explain chey bro. Nenithey ekada chudala tamil and kerala lo 8 years unna. Undochu konchem interior like trichy and some other places i have see them. Andhra lo srikaklulam folk songs and dance untadhi and several other places. Other than that valla kantu separate emana unna like kathakali for kerala families lo evadu eyadu dance. Avg home lol @yemdoing ???

Kolatam. Krishnashtami ki andaru kalisi dance chestaru. 
 

Folk dances are prevalent everywhere but mostly for women. Gidda/ghumar is exclusively performed by them. 
 

Also, north doesn’t have a traditional art dance except for kathak. South lo many.
