losing to Nad and Djok is different from being afraid to face them.

Fed really believes that he can beat them.

But he knows that he can't beat Wawrinka if Wawie plays his best tennis. He's afraid of Wawie.. not Djok or Nad.

pretty sure no one pisses at the thought of facing Djokovic.

If you are talking about Wawrinka, that is true.

both Djokovic and Nadal are mostly defensive players, and they play even worse when they play each other.

atleast fed vs djo and fed vs nad, will have some level of inventive plays. mostly from Fed.

Fed is like that supremely talented player who had it too easy in the juniors, struggled for a bit at the ATP level, and quickly found his range, and things became easy for him again.

And when Nadal and Djiok came in, he never upgraded his game to suit their styles. Fed didn't play in a weak era. He played in an era, where there were no doggedly determined players like Nad and Djok.

Tennis used to be worth watching in the 90s. Now its like a boxing slugfest, with ugly shots and players like Nad trying to just outlast their opponents most of the time.

Vaadu aadina peak era lo okkadu kuda top 50 players in history lo undaru may be even 100.

Except rafa.

DJ era rafa Federer waw Murray's easily in 20 .

because he was simply too dominant. Federer aadindhi choodaledha nuvvu between 2002 - 2006. Players were genuinely afraid of facing Federer then.

even matches he lost against Nadal, it was him that made the match interesting to watch.

Nad Djok want to win. Federer wants to do ballet dance on court.

Federer is not afraid of anyone dude. In his mind, he's always the best. I can't think of a single player who can outhit Federer other than Wawrinka.

Yes. Fed didn't change his game. its his ego that he's the best of the best.

But Nad and Djok are horrible to watch play. Koncham opponent attack chestey, inka aypoyindi, they go into a defensive shell.

the surfaces also suit their games now.

Fed is best aey. GS count lo Nad and Djok will be better anthe.

Fed literally saved tennis from Hewitt. I almost gave up watching tennis after 2002 wimbledon. Thank god for Federer.

and ofcourse I gave up watching in 2010 later, because he became too full of himself after 2008. Also Federer began shanking 50% of his drives.

It may be mental or something. I don't care. I enjoyed the period where Fed vs Nalbandian, Fed vs Safin etc.

the contrast in their games was enjoying to watch. With Djok, I think he started outhitting Federer only recently, after Federer lost a step. At no other point in time was Djokovic absolutely dominating Federer. Even Nadal wasn't doing it outside of clay courts.

Talking of fearing to face a player, there's a particular match I remember from the 90s.

Boris Becker vs Pete Sampras. Wimbledon QF.

becker was quaking in his boots.. lol. It was obvious in his face.

He couldn't read Pete's serve at all. He wanted the match to be over. and for his humiliation to end.

Also Nadal fears David Nalbandian. muhahaha..

until Nalbandian grew a cute tummy and gave up tryin to win.

Absolute destruction of Nadal in the first two matches they played.

So why am I defending Federer when I hate him?

because I have huge love and respect for anyone who chooses to play single handed backhand, at a time when its a dying art form.

I love Filippo Volandri more than any multiple grand slam winner. hehe.

yep. his overall game is very good too. His forehand is much better than his backhand though.

I haven't seen top spin generated off a backhand drive like that.

Gasquet is the GOAT.

we should give him honorary GS title.. hehe..

If only he had a better forehand and serve to go along with that backhand.

His serve is his biggest undoing
