None of them in my circle are … I wish I had some motivation in my late teens till 20… now my nice and nephews are great inspiration… international sports playing on behalf Ivy League  and earning millions per match more than earning their dedication in doing what they love …

to contribute to thread , I guess I have friends who made it to civil services , IIT+IIMs together , some doctors and did pg here and in India , few people in management in faang ....some started companies (CEO, Co founder etc) , some have pretty big appliances retail shops back in India..

only fanng ppl and start up folks are still in touch , lost touch with the rest of them..

one thing i always regret is about me not investing in a very close friend's startup back in 2016 , he just asked for 25L rupees as an investment and I backed out of it because he wanted me to have an active role in the company along with the investment , fast forward 3-4 years and that company is valued at more than 500 mill $ now , they created a suite of products which are niche for a particular segment and have dominated it , I could have easily walked away with more than 100mill if I had invested in it back then , anyways I'm doing good myself but this will always be a one hell of a missed opportunity , I wont even be surprised if that company goes on to become valued at multiple billions of $ in the future.

 

one thing I've noticed is that a true genius's mind works in an entirely different way , even in college he used to always approach any problem in a logical way rather than just mugging up whatever is written in the text books , he never used to get good enough marks for it but he never used to really care about it .

few of my school friends in india are working some normal govt job. I meet them, they look, sound very happy to me. They feed me delicious food, they live in small galli, ordinary home with wife and kids their parents.

few others are software, police officers...they are fine like me. nucelar families, nice home, pre packed food.
