The Prime Minister made a national address where he announced FREE vaccination, and an repeated emphasis on FREE many times.

It is important to tell the emperor of what he has lost for us when he talks of how we gained because of his benevolence. Here is a lowdown:

1. The central government collected about 72,000 crores as oil tax in 2015. It would be about 360,000 crores in 2021. Currently, they collect 35,000 crores a month, just enough to give the entire population, both the jabs ON THE MONTHLY OIL TAX only.

2. The budget had already provided 35,000 crores for the vaccination. What was the FREE thing about when it is budgeted?

3. In the last 4 years, Banks were recapitalised to the tune of 2.86 lac crores thru budgetary allocation against write-offs owed by big industrialists.

4. The IBC process, a logical and aggressive process to recover whatever is possible has possibly been abused. A look of some settlements will tell you the story.

5. This week, Videocon and its group companies were sold to Vedanta Group. Videocon owed 42,000 crores and banks recovered just 2900 crores. About 39000 Crores was written off.

6. Ruchi Soya was sold to Baba Ramdev. The banks recovered just about 44% of its debts and wrote off 5000 crores against the 9400 crores owed to them.

7. DHFL was sold to Piramals. The Banks made Claims of Rs. 100,064 Crores but settled for a bid by Piramals of Rs.37,250 Crores. In all, Banks and creditors lost 63000 crores.

8. Bhushan steel was bought by Tata Steel for 35,200 crores. The banks wrote off about 18000 crores.

9. Essar Steel was sold to Arcelor Mittal for 42000 crores. The banks made a claim of ₹49,473 crore but got only ₹30,030 crore losing 19400 crores.

10. Essar Power was bought by Adanis. Against claims of 12000 crores, the banks recovered just 2600 crores and wrote of 9400 crores.

I am not against the IBC process. But if the PM considers FREE vaccination as charity, we need to remind him how he is fleecing us while benefitting his cronies and making us pay for his blunders. He is inept, inefficient PM with no empathy and we are paying for it.
