Don't forget there are lot more poorer autocratic nations than democratic ones . We will be having masterstrokes like demonitisation , nationalization every other year 

No society is as autocratic as india. People dont even have freedom to marry outside of their caste, what you eat, whom you marry - all decided for most people at birth. No human agency. Even Phd candidates choose their guides by their caste.

They want all good things in china but not their sacrifices, all good things from america but not their christian principles.
