Quartz…since it’s not natural and durability is high

We did Quartz in an older house. 

My understanding is Granite absorbs moisture and spice color, takes long time to get rid of color. Sealant is easy but hot pots pettakoodadu which is very difficult in real life.

Newer cabinets ki quartz is more compatible style wise. 

If you have time and if it is possible talk to a local supplier and ask for rates (stone cost, cutting, template, plumbing holes, edge pattern anni kalipi). 

Compare that with builder and make a decision whether it is easier with builder or outside person. 

Based on what many people said, arguing with builder tobirng the cost down is not going to work in this market.

Also consider having a 4-6 inch tall stone part o fthe backsplash and have tile on top of that. Looks nicer for regular tiles. if your tile work is super fancy it may differ.
