Anta Assamey
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced 75 Vande Bharat trains today on India’s 75th Independence day. The Vande Bharat trains, like the Udan Scheme for flights, will help connect India’s far-flung areas. The nation will roll out its first upgraded Vandra Bharat train in early 2022 and get 75 new trains by 15 Aug 2023. Modi said that 75 Vande Bharat trains will be connecting every corner of the country in 75 weeks of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is the government’s initiative to mark 75 years of India’s Independence, a tribute to freedom fighters and freedom struggle. To mark this occasion, several events are being organised across the country. “Today the speed at which new airports are being built in the country, the UDAN scheme connecting far-flung areas is also unprecedented,” the Prime Minister added. Ahead of the speech, Modi unfurled the national flag at the Red Fort and stated that the capitals of northeast states will soon be connected with the railways. The Prime Minister gave a call for ”Sabka Prayas” along with ”Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” for building a new India. Talking about Vande Bharat trains, they will have new features citing the comfort and safety of passengers. The engineering company Medha will supply the electrical systems to the Vandra Bharat trains. These trains are semi high speed, fully air-conditioned with quicker acceleration and contemporary passenger amenities. It has CCTV, automatic sliding doors with retractable coach footsteps and zero discharge vacuum-based bio-toilets etc. Currently, two old Vande Bharat Express trains operate in the country by the Indian Railways. The first Vande Bharat Express operates between Varanasi and New Delhi while the second Vande Bharat Express operates between Katra and New Delhi. Ryzen_renoir
Cancel hundreds of trains citing covid . Announce 75 new trains ... masterstroke Besides the main reason for low speed is due to low quality tracks / maintenance . I don't see how semi high speed rails can operate on such tracks
