Islam is the religion and muslims are the followers. I am not muddled. I am asking is islam modern and does it align with modern western systems?  Islam as a religion is an entity. Do all muslims follow islam properly? Most muslims follow islam in varying degrees. Who are the real followers of islam? Taliban or the rich sheikhs or poor muslims in ethiopia or the IT call center guy  from bangladesh. 

By bigger group i meant the other southern states? I would actually support a support a separate south indian Entity. We are so similar. We as peoples need to look at the future and our safety.

we dont need to be part of south india - we are pretty large groups ourselves. we will ofcourse maintain freindly relations. In fact i dont even think we need to completely break up india too - we can have arrangements like EU or CIS (for ex soviet republic).

I just dont know where you are going with debating on Islam. You are not a muslim - you are not affected by it. I am not affected by it. Clearly muslims themseves are not affected by it in same way - turkish muslims are very different from afghani muslims who are very different from malays.

Then what purpose does it serve to paint islam as something evil except rile up 2 billion people who dont even hate us. It just paints an unncessary target on our backs by some disgruntled muslim somewhere.

I was not potraying muslims as evil. I was just countering your point about hinduism being not modern and will not survive. No religion is modern. Religions are not supposed to be modern.

I dont want a fight with muslims either. I am just saying live and let live. Let people of disparate thoughts survive. 

If south atleast does not stop this flow of migrants from North, soon our identities will be lost. Look at the crowds of biharis, UP people, landing at major southern cities. We will soon be wiped off.

Alright. I dont want to go down a rabbit hole on this but in my opinion - just theoretical - islam is a little more modern than hinduism. And christianity is certainly more modern. Latin liturgy ended in churches in europe in 15th century itself - all prayers done in local languages. Why does our temples still have incomprehensible mumbo jumbo in sanskrit ? Reform is very low in hinduism.
