Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu: No Buzz At All!

NTR.jpg

Young Tiger NTR who marked his small screen debut by hosting the first season of Telugu reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ has been greeting the TV audience again with the new reality game show, “Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu”. It has been 10 days since the show went on air but the show has failed miserably in grabbing the attention of the audience.

Ram Charan who is sharing the screen space with NTR in Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus ‘RRR’ attended the curtain-raiser episode as a guest. Though the curtain raiser event generated a good buzz, the remaining episodes failed to grab the attention.

Interestingly, the format of this reality game show is not new to Telugu audiences. Earlier, the same show was telecasted with the name ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’ where King Nagarjuna and Megastar Chiranjeevi hosted the show.

When both the senior heroes hosted, the show went on really well with good TRPs and even created records.

But when young Tiger NTR is hosting, there is absolutely no buzz at all. There is no talk about the same even on social media platforms. Previously, the show used to air on the Star Maa channel but now “Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu” is being aired by Gemini TV.

On the other hand, offline promotions are not that great. No hoardings of “Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu” are being seen anywhere in the Telugu States which also became one of the major setbacks behind the lukewarm response the show has been receiving.

When the curtain raiser event of “Evaru Meelo Koteeswarudu” showcased the Mega Power Star Ram Charan and NTR on the small screens, everyone thought that it might be a good start for the show. But it seems like the fun-filled episode also failed to help the show in grabbing the eyeballs. Most of the people who watched the first episode didn’t even watch the Monday episode and they don’t even know that Ram Charan won 25 lakhs from the show.

And the fifth season of Bigg Boss is all set to get started from 5th September. Needless to say that the TRPs for Bigg Boss will be very high when compared to any other show on other channels. We have to wait and see if Gemini TV will take any measures to increase its TRPs to withstand the competition from their rival channel!
