Ports are great infra, but they don't create the boom. It's federal spending that does.

TG doesn't need it coz they export high value products like software and pharma

TG bandar port lease kosam chala ante chala try chesindi

Yes. Division was the best thing in the long run.

But AP was not worse under United AP, in the sense the region's agri always flourished and more ambitious can always take the extra money and go and act mighty in Hyderabad. Eg. Our Telugodura. Hehe.. he wants those glory days back. Too bad. Lol

Yes , Agriculture flourished even in Telangana but actual Infrastructure emi develop kaaledhu in United AP outside of few central schemes .

how many universities were established in United AP ?  How many ports were built by stats in United AP ? Was public education better ? Most of the cities have stagnated except tirupathi

No tirupathi is the fastest growing city under United for a almost 50-60 years because it's revenue generation and infrastructure spending is independent of the state .

Renigunta lo Industries 1980 nunchi unnayi.

To give you a context ,in 1990 tirupathi had 180k while Guntur had 460k . Now they are almost even and tirupathi is still growing two times faster

Corporation is just a tag anthey

Hyderabad: Telangana has been adjudged as one of the fastest growing States as State economy grew at an average annual rate of more than 9 per cent for the last six years. According to arthNITI, a report released by the Niti Aayog, the Telangana State stood at 7th place in terms of GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) and clocked a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of more than 11 per cent since 2015-16. Interestingly, the industrial sector growth surpassed agriculture sector in the GSDP by registering 17 per cent. The contribution of the farming sector is 16 per cent of the State growth. As per the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade data, the cumulative Foreign Direct Investment flow into Telangana amounted to USD1,539.82 million between October 2019 and December 2020. The report said that the new TSiPASS industrial policy helped the State to move fast in the industrial growth.

hy01estimatescol

Sample this for growth at a scorching pace – a mind-boggling 94 per cent increase in GSDP at current prices in 2020-21 from its 2014-15 value (third highest in the country), national leader in pharmaceutical sector with Hyderabad accounting for 20 per cent of total exports, a massive increase of 120 per cent in IT exports since State formation in 2014, outpacing the country in growth consistently by 3.7 percentage points, an impressive per capita income of over Rs 2.37 lakh that is 1.84 times more than the national PCI, an 8-fold increase in agriculture growth. And all these are facts and figures have been released by Niti Aayog in its ‘ArthNithi’ report on August 30.

The report points out that Telangana’s GSDP of over Rs 9.80 lakh crore at current prices in 2020-21 pole-vaulted the State into the third position in the country in GSDP percentage increase in just seven years. Telangana, besides being the sixth highest contributor to the country’s GDP at current prices, also recorded the third highest average annual growth rate of GSDP at current prices in the country. The GSDP growth rate was the highest among all the southern States at 11.7 per cent post State formation, leaving behind even ‘developed’ and well-established States like Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Coming down to the brass tacks of the sector, not only did the agriculture sector emerge as the top employer with 54 per cent of the State population taking up agriculture activities, the primary sector grew by a phenomenal eight times since 2014, and its contribution to the Gross State Value Addition (GSVA) improved from 19.5 per cent in 2014-15 to over 24 per cent in 2020-21. The agriculture sector’s contribution to the GSDP was around 16 per cent, which is significant given the fact that Telangana in the pre-2014 era was a barren and parched mass of land.

That the policies of the State government are on the right track and are people-centric can be gauged from the fact that the per capita income for Telangana was Rs 2,37,632 against the national PCI of Rs 1,28,829. It surpassed seven States to occupy the third slot in PCI in the country, and again the highest growth rate of 11.5 per cent among the southern States.

I think it's TG that is misallocating its resources, especially by trying to build an agri base.

TGs growth is thanks to its growth in IT, and you are saying IT is over. And want Andhra to misallocate more resources to agriculture.

AP having more resources than TG is no longer true since the division. Especially financial resources

60% of the population is dependent on agriculture and agriculture dependent sectors. 16.5% of 10 lakh crores is 1.65 lakh crores rupees whixh is going directly into the pockets of people dependent on agriculture, which is unprecedented and this from a mere 10 thousand crores(2% gdp contribution of 5 lakh crores) infusion  7 years ago. The lives of the people will automatically transform with that of income as they are better capable of setting up genNext either via education or business .

Andhra has more resources than Telangana, Andhra leaders focus should be on agriculture and ports, tourism, industries etc. The IT thing is passé and waste of time in chasing it. They are not putting money where their mouth is. Amaravathi is one example and too much wastage on welfare now - India is a welfare state but they should balance growth and welfare

Singapore only imports low value raw materials, and does most of food processing in their own country. Singapore is a very hard market to get into anyhow. Its completely saturated.

CHina is possible.

anyway, AP should move away from agriculture and into pharma big time, or any other industry.

hyd infra is good and efforts are being made to develop further - nanakramguda it sez ki velte it will be very hard to believe that u r in hyd - makes u feel like u r in a developed country - like wise shamshabad airport one of the crown jewels -  less than 4 yrs back i have seen around 30 gates where as now more than 120 gates!! It is the infra that attracts external investors I guess.  AP lo amaravati ante inka from the core develop cheyyatam kudarademo - they should have picked up vizag in the first place which has decent infra to begin with rather than starting it from scratch
