Plan for couple of months. If you have US kid no issues with NIE.

First apply any location earliest appt. Then apply for expedite showing kids school or vaccine or some other reason which ever is valid..with out  regular appt first you cannot apply expedite..

If you are married ask your wife to keep on look for appts, telegram groups are very helpful they share slots info..
