Assamese have a right to their land and a right to manage them. The recent migration enabled by modern trasnport technologies are extremely disruptive if not managed properly through an immigration process. They have a right to complain against this and if assamese can directly talk to bengalis its far easier than indian govt profiteeting form their clashes.

nope. assamese nationalism has made life living hell for bengalis in the region, and should not be given a pass, just because of the bigger bully India's activities in the region. Even though the main point of assamese nationalism that   local issues need local solutions, is generally agreeable. Their insistence on disenfranchisement of bengalis is utterly disgusting and needs to be called out for what it is - a genocide of epic proportions, given millions are now in detention centers in their own land.

why were assamese not raging maniacs during british rule. i find no instances of genocides of assamese against bengalis in theri 150 year rule of both provinces.
