i should say he took a big risk - 

come to think of it - all path breaking / cult movies are "risky" - very few click...

yes, he said he got carried away by his emotions.. 

well, it looks like he did the same here too a bit. He said he has a great direction team etc, then why the climax is like that is a million $ question.
