you have a golden chance of reducing impact of autism as he is just 2 years. As age grows therapies will have less impact.

This should be your highest priority in life now mentally ,financially etc..

relentless ga ask questions and get the kid the best services .

early intervention is always good. Don't just ignore because mostly indians just brush it off. Take all the help.

Some states and some countys offer free therapy programs. All good insurance plans cover ABA (Applied behaviour analysis) which covers speech and occupational therapy.

I recommend occupational therapy also. Is speech the only problem or are there any other symptoms thats concerning you. They may look like not a big deal but you have to keep an eye on these like -

is your kid using his hand/finger to point something to ask? If not, its a problem

Is he/she making eye contact?

Does he/she throw objects all the time?

Does he/she understand the concept of danger?

Does he/she engage in play with other kids in a group? or just plays alone??
Is he/she constantly crying??

Is he/she afraid of sounds, darkness, animals, pets, etc.,?

Is he picky with food like does he eat things that are squishy ? hard etc.,??

In most cases its not ‘autism’ that kid has, its the indifference disease that elders have towards kid.

Kid ni ignore cheyadam, malli daaniki autism ani jargon throw cheyadam common ayipoyindhi these days.

Hope yours is not that case. Don’t get caught with words like autism etc. Identify your kid’s needs and address in a playful way. Talk more with him/her about stuff they like.

This is exactly what everyone in my relatives said including my parents. Fortunately I ignore such comments and suggestions and went ahead with the services I take. Glad that I did and my son recovered fast because of getting the care at an early age of 2.5 yrs.

People just assume that this generation parents don't spend time or because they live in US they are busy enjoying themselves etc., But I know how much I & my wife enjoy spending time with them and how much we engage them in our conversations, play etc., It's easy to judge.

not just speech delay batte kaadhu anukunta baa even behavioral patterns choosi decide chesthaaru anukunta

in one way it it good becoz if the differences were caught early ....like fellow members mentioned above early intervention plays an important role in dealing the issue.

depends. TS may not have stated other symptoms. When our pediatrician suggested I thought the same, but there were a much of other minor symptoms that made me to go for therapy..
