Some states and some countys offer free therapy programs. All good insurance plans cover ABA (Applied behaviour analysis) which covers speech and occupational therapy.

I recommend occupational therapy also. Is speech the only problem or are there any other symptoms thats concerning you. They may look like not a big deal but you have to keep an eye on these like - 

is your kid using his hand/finger to point something to ask? If not, its a problem

Is he/she making eye contact?

Does he/she throw objects all the time?

Does he/she understand the concept of danger?

Does he/she engage in play with other kids in a group? or just plays alone??
Is he/she constantly crying??

Is he/she afraid of sounds, darkness, animals, pets, etc.,?

Is he picky with food like does he eat things that are squishy ? hard etc.,??

Exactly baa idey ayyindhi maa alludiki but vaadu india lo vuntaadu maa parents entha cheppina...maa bava and atthagaaru vallu pattinchukoledhu idhi common adhi idhi ani kotti padesaaru...Now he is 7 and still having issues vaadi paristhithi choosthe baadesthundhi

People just assume that this generation parents don't spend time or because they live in US they are busy enjoying themselves etc., But I know how much I & my wife enjoy spending time with them and how much we engage them in our conversations, play etc., It's easy to judge.

I was talking about majority misconception. I’ve seen people fixated with term Autism and do nothing about it but getting panicked. Anduke I said, identify your child needs. If they need expert intervention, so be it. Its good that you identified your child’s needs and addressed accordingly.

In my son’s case, more playing, more talking, more social atmosphere helped to fix the problem. Now he is a champion.

mild ante, Day care, india trip  will help... speech delay undachu, if all other activities are good like pointing for requesting, interacting with you in play, gross motor , fine motor..entha tondarga ayithe start chesthe anta manchidi mild unna kuda,

I agree with this.Already they are huge waitlists everywhere for speech/OT/ABA services in US.May be you can put him in waitlist and go to India until you are accepted

Ammma , nanamma la daggara unchu bro.. 6months lo all set ipoddi.. ma nephew ki 3 yrs varaku matalrale, but 3-4 months at grandparents house he started talking.. don't worry much..

Tym spend cheyali vay.. thy need someone around them to play with, bita kids tho peddaga mingle avvam adi kuda oka reason.. manaki kuda guidance and patients avasaram kids ni raise cheyaniki...

Only therapy … send kid to India for couple of months …

It’s not autism… many indian parents ignoring and not interacting with babies due to their busy life style/work so delayed development, that US doctors misdiagnose as autism… 

in India someone like grand parents, cousins will frequently interact so babies won’t face these issues much…
