Yes every citizen can arm himself and fight to the end if there's a land invasion, that's why the right to carry arms is so important.

Even if you carry a machete or sword..at best you can kill is 5-10 before being over powered... 

 

Even if you carry a revolver which is best you can get license for Countries like india, you have to reload before firing each round..with maximum number of rounds limited to 6-8 ..even police guns are limited that way in India ..

During Mumbai attacks, railway police used British era lee rifles to tackle terrorists with  ak-47 fire power .

 

Where as during Sandy hook elementary shooting.. shooter who is 20 years old entered elementary school and killed little kids using a bushmaster semi automatic rifle ..with fire power of 30 rounds per magazine..he carried many magazines with 30 rounds each and fired indiscriminately killing 21 innocent kids .

 

 

During last Vegas shootings ..shooter fired ar-15 assault rifle..killing 62 people ... Pure massacre.

 

There are many loop holes in USA gun laws..

 

Gun shows loophole..they can sell guns without requirement for background criminal  checks .. ..you can buy bulk guns..(now banned in 21 states)

 

Possessing a gun simillar to ar-15 in India or most countries means imprisonment up to 10 years ... 

 

But in USA you can restock them and pile them as if you are prepared for a zombie appolocalyps
