Reservation for General Category ?

Surprised to know that based on income, General category also has reservation and cut-off is same as Backward classes.. This is for IIT last year..

GEN-EWS - General - Parent's income below 8 lakhs..

OBC-NCL - Backward classes - Parents income below 8 lakhs..

and cut off for GEN less than OBC !!!
