its only very recently since 80s, that right wing movements have embraced liberty. It was left that fought for liberty for all of human history otherwise. and still does through various radical movements across the world.

there is a very small faction of the right, that is indeed for individual liberty. kaadhu ananu. but most of them demand fealty to family, to nation, and to a host of other silly institutions. they demand this, without giving nothing in return, other than an opportunity to participate in a darwinist game, where you may come on top or end up in anywhere else on the hierarchy. The right has a strict hierarchy for everything.

modern left is different. Though they act like the right in demanding all this, their attempt is to use the govt to help individuals. very clumsy but iteratively the only scientific way to approach governance, given serious limitations humans have for imagining better systems. Too much inertia. Everyone lazy and comfortable in their 'earned' positions.

left shakes them up. right (not as organization, but as individuals) too.
