complete fabrication to say they dont prefer. Indian army is not a freindly place for south indians with its caste regiments and hindi imposition. There are very few muslims in indian army - does it mean muslims dont prefer to be in amred forces ? you must answer that.

how do you say south indians not interested in armed forces ? it is not supported by history. Do you have surveys comparing with other societies ? the only thing you have is the claim they are proportionally lesser in indian armed forces (there are others like gujratis who are even lesser).

I am giving the explanation the low percentage is due to lack of encouragement from indian army - its usage of hindi and lack of friendliness due to historical caste associations of indian army.

Your explanation is lack of interest - then  this must logically apply to other groups too who have less proportional representation. Like muslims. You dont have an answer.
