bold-- it is not something cannot be achievable with in 10 yrs.
autopilot may be, but other car cmpanies are capable of mass producing and stable suppy chain.

At this point no other company can produce evs as fast as Tesla. Even gas  cars.  Every manufacturer is struggling to find parts and calls out for chip shortage. Tesla was so far ahead in thinking and the way their software works, they were able to quickly adopt new chips and change their software quickly to keep the impact minimal.

too much expensive but I think they can change that. we felt the same about tesla early on. Production mundu master cheyyali. appati varaku elevations tagginchukuntey manchidantunna @sri_india sarvaadu

Elon said that and lucid is following same. You can't make a cheap car to establish a company. You have to make higher price car and use that to build cheaper car. That's surviving model. As long as lucid car succeeds they can survive. If it fails, then its endgame for them.

+ Tesla trying to get rid of Solid State Battery and coming up with new kind of battery (4068), claiming it can charge 50% capacity in 7 minutes. Have to see how it works in real world apart from their claims. It will be a game changer If it can work.

No,that’s  a lot of mis information. A solid state battery is a game changer. Few companies like Toyota and Quantum scape has it in the making. Probably we will see it in 2030, that’s game changer, who ever gets it first will lead the race.

tesla progression is from 18650(model s/x) -> 2170 (model 3/y) to 4680. 18650 are like our laptop battery cells and 2170 slightly bigger than AA batteries. 4680 will like 2170 but can charge fast and retain more charge. They are not solid state very inferior to solid state. Every battery has lithium and cobalt, which are rare earth metals, so every battery maker is trying to lower the percentage of lithium and cobalt to get alternate formulas, in latest model 3s base models they are using LFP batteries which are heavier and uses alternative chemistry.

like wise GM is making their ultium pack, Tesla’s current battery per 1 KWH costs $127, GM was able to get theirs under $100 with their chemistry. In the end all the batteries are made by the same set of vendors like panasonic, LG chem, CATL or Samsung.

LG and Samsung are also invested heavily into solid state batteries

Also add,

+ Huge training data (images clicked by cameras) that has been collected from the Tesla cars running on the roads for years now.

+ This lead to own simulated data resembling different drivable roads, weather conditions, visibility to handle corner cases in the Autonomous Driving algorithms.

+ Reinforcement corrective feedback data from the drivers of the Tesla.

+ ElonMusk Hype.

Even though FSD takes a while than what these people boast, Tesla is a head in terms of scaling, quality improvements (Musk loves to fail fast and learns form practical experiences, rather waiting for perfection) and can bring Autonomous Driving faster than other car companies.

FSD is very overrated and that got this FUD going with Tesla but in reality it is half baked and dangerous. I still regret for spending $10k on this thing. fSD is not confidence inspiring, you will lose the trust very soon while using it

there are far advanced companies running trials in the most difficult roads in the country (San Francisco and NY), waymo and Cruise are the only companies  approved for robo taxis trails in SF. They are geo fenced but more confidence inspiring. Cruise is currently valued $50 billion - a GM subsidiary

the main issue with Tesla being soley dependent on cameras(vision only) is the root of the problem, older teslas had a radar but they removed in the latest models, vision only is slow to react, turns on high beams at night, a lot of phantom breaking due to false positives. Elon’s ego is another problem as he doesn’t like Lidar or radar.

other auto makers like Lucid are making use of Lidar in both forward and rear collision detections

they have autopilot nobody every thought that will succedd

and they have fast charging technology with 30mins charging user able to travel 270 miles

and charging stations are avaliable everywhere

Lucid has more advaced system, it is based on 900v architecture meaning it can take more charge than any other car out there, it can charge 20 miles per minute. Also it is bi-directional meaning it can power a home for 3 days or charge another car. lucid is a technology marvel, they bested Tesla by 30% in efficiency. Their motors weigh 100 pounds less and battery efficiency  is on another level

All that is told by Lucid. If they are as good as they say it will be competition for Tesla.

Lucid Motors’ Wunderbox Charger Could Be A Game Changer

The EV company has a lot of people looking forward to their vehicles and other technology

With Lucid Motors expected to finally start delivering the inaugural Lucid Air series to customers any day now, attention has rightfully been focused on the exciting technology and performance of the luxury electric cars. However, the company is much more than just vehicles, as they have developed additional products that could be a game changer to many around the world. This includes their Wunderbox.

Lucid’s Wunderbox is their 900v+ battery charger. The on-board charging unit doesn’t sound very exciting on its face, but delving into the specs give plenty of reasons why this should quickly become a popular device with customers. Amazingly, it is able to convert lower voltage to higher voltage in providing its turbo charge.

Currently, the fastest chatting system available, users can get up to 300 miles of charge in only 20 minutes. It was also designed to be compatible with practically all public charging stations, which will allow drivers to easily find a location and juice up. Customers who reserved a Lucid Air in 2021 will also receive free access to charging for three years with charging partner Electrify America (The charging is complimentary up to a 100% charge, but idling fees thereafter may apply).

Perhaps most exciting are the bi-directional charging capabilities that are expected to be available soon. This means that a Lucid charger will not only be able to supply power from one vehicle to another but is also capable of being connected to a Lucid Connected Home Charging Station and power an entire home for a short period up to multiple days. This will be handy during power outages and for camping and vacation trips that are more off the grid.

The Wunderbox can be plugged into any standard or NEMA14–50 outlet, so they can be charged right at home, which is a convenience that should replace generators as a more accessible and easy alternative.

With the capability of providing up to 20 miles of charge per minute, the Wunderbox should go a long way to ease range anxiety for those who remain uncertain about EVs. Lucid Vice President of Hardware Engineering Eric Bach explained back in 2020 what the company was hoping to accomplish with their charging:

“With our ultra-high voltage 900V+ electrical architecture and the proprietary Wunderbox, we have significantly increased the speed of energy getting into, around, and even out of the vehicle, delivering the world’s fastest charging EV packed with future-ready charging features.”

These chargers will eventually connect back to Lucid’s plans to develop Energy Storage Systems (ESS), using repurposed batteries to provide sustainable and long-lasting power to homes and businesses for ongoing charging instead of shorter periods. While this is a project still in development, as of 2020 the company already had its first prototype installed and in use at their Silicon Valley headquarters.

The versatility and chameleon-like ability of the Wunderbox gives Lucid Motors a distinct advantage over competitors. It’s ability to adapt to most charging environments while maintaining the highest level of capabilities means that the company doesn’t have to build its own charging network, which would absorb an incredible amount of time and resources. Once again, the emphasis on technology and being on the cutting edge should prove to be a boon to their bottom line as they move forward.

The best advertising for the quality of the Lucid cars, which Motor Trend’s Jonny Lieberman recently called “an absolute mic drop” after taking one for a test drive, and for its affiliated tech, will come once it’s actually in the hands of customers. However, familiarizing oneself with what they have on the menu, including the amazing Wunderbox, continues to show that this company appears to have a very bright future
