if its customers demand that they need to get service in local language, nothing wrong with that.. but they cannot have all staff who can talk in local language only.. Bangalore demographics has been changing a lot since last 20-25 years.. with that change there are not only non-local staff everywhere but also the local population have big chunk of nonlocal population..

locals who cannot talk hindi or english can still communicate with broken english or hindi and get their work done, this guy who made video seems more worried about non-locals coming to their state and in good jobs than getting his work done.. on the other hand the staff who are living in a place for long time have need and responsibility to learn the local language..

did I say that I was supporting that bank employee, he is rude I agree. but my point is;  if you don't know the language, someone pulls up phone starts recording you saying kannada lo matladu, will you lose cool or not ? that's what I see in that video;

nenu aa particular incident gurinchi anna.

but northie gallu inte; hindi fascism, boundaries marina buddi marale ani evo antunnaru.

Then banks have to change not the people. as i said in the first posts throughout the world capital speaks the language of customer - only in india is customer demanded to speak the language of capital.

yes, its bank's responsibility to put a local speaking employee in main teller seat and additional counter for Hindi (like spanish in US).. but thats too much to ask in India..

if India has to be united, I think its not bad to force people learn Hindi.. and I know you dont want united India..

I am ok anyway..

yea = "chaala kashtam baa. 6 crore population unna kannada language ki kannada bank employees dorakalante etta". only fools make such demands.

The world is moving away if south indians suffer then so be it - antunna halwa.

same to same antunna narsi @Raven_Rayes

Then do one thing...demand to run only "Kannadiga Bank" where only is kannada is spoken...no english or hindi but only Kannada and ask all the kannadigas to go this bank for their banking needs..

for people do not have any linguistic barriers will go to all other banks.

what if the bank employee was telugu and speaking in hindi ???

I still would say it's rude to reply to a person in language that they don't understand. I took this opportunity to stereotype northies as I consistently see them doing that. Just two days back adi jargindi that too in an English speaking country.

nenu observe chesinadi enti ante;  its easy for south indians to learn north indian languages; other way is rather difficult.

do you consider english easy or tough ? if you say its easy then why chinese despite living for considerable time in US don't speak English on par with Indians, okay you can say we have colonial influence, but philipinos don't speak very good english as well though their education system is greatly influenced by United States, as it was colony of US once upon a time.

Rey halwa - have you seen anywhere in the world where companies dont serve people in the language of the land? like banks using english to russian in russia.

Why are you people so weird? i dont understand. something has fundamentally gone wrong in that mind.

"india" is not more important than people getting what they deserve.

indian unity cannot be at cost of inconvenience of some people. then that unity is harmful.

Hindi is not easy, that's a huge statement. It seems easy to speak because it was imposed on us. We learn hindi in schools so koddo goppo easy anipistadi. Andulo telugus can speak due to the Hyderabadi hindi influence but we still have an accent and cannot converse with an average hindi guy. Mana accented hindi toh velli delhi gully lo matladte moham meeda navvestaru. That being said it's equally difficult for non Hindis to learn hindi as it is difficult for northies to learn south indian languages.

I simply rephrased what C. Rajagopalachari said:

Hindi is as much foreign to non-Hindi speaking people as English [is] to the protagonists of Hindi

During 1950s there were protests against making hindi an official language across the country. Govt exams etc kuda hindi lone undali annaru. Ee paityam akadi nunde undi

National banks have employees transferred all over India… i don’t think they have language as a criteria to transfer someone from say AP to Bengal… how will a Telugu guy learn Bengali if he is transferred to Bengal? Hindi is better as we learned a bit in school and in movies..

Bank jobs are not local… one of my uncle traveled all over India on transfers as he worked for SBI..

Circle preference batti transfers untai. Ela padte ala cheyaru. Back then ela undeno. Last 10 years lo aite circle and language preference toh chestaru. Rurals areas lo poi nen nak ochina language a matladta ante ela nadustadi? You are serving those people at least talk to them in basic level. Why do you think even  IAS officers learn their cadre language mari? India is a diverse country, the moment imposing starts, it will become weak. Essence of India ne ee diversity.
