NTR was in depression and hopeless after he lost the elections in 1989 time frame. His health deteriorated. 
With her entry, his health improved and he has seen success again that made him decide accordingly. NTR ki koddiga moodhanammakalu kuda ekkuvey… but that worked out for him.. he became CM with huge majority when he was hopeless and uncertain !
