last one year la at one point I was 100k down, ippudu konchamu breakeven, if I had invested the same in SPY at 300 beginning of this year I would have made 40% on my investment, SPY currently trading at $470.

moral of the story, in bull market you can make money but in bear market you should know when to enter in and out otherwise you will end holding the bag and miss the rebound. bull market makes you money but bear market makes you rich if you play right strategies . If you don’t have the knack of playing it correctly you will either lose money or breakeven in the end. So it is important to have some portion of portfolio in etfs or stable growth stocks so the spread is uniform

I agree with what @hyperbole said. Market lo invest cheste padipoyinappudu panic avvaddu - periginappudu dappu kottaddu. Take the emotion out of money, stop micromanaging it and move on. 

Make sure you dont need that 50K for some real life expenses in the next 3-5 years. Daanni next year 100K chesesi - dannto illu konesi ilanti pichi logic lu leka pote chalu. You dont need to be smart to protect your capital - just stop being dumb anthe

Stock market is hard unless you invest in Fang for very long term.

Us lo maha ante stocks lo pedathavu ...not guanranteed returns ..+ 5 years lo maha ante neku 50% ayindi. migiledhi after taxes 25% 🤦‍♂️.

I.e. 50k will become 62000 avasarama. Happy ga India lo bank lo(8-10%) or India land lo pettina chalu kadha.

If you want to invest

Downpay 20% for house and get rental property.

Though the returns are not great but because of inflation house prices increase over period of time it would be great returns.

Invest in Vanguard ETF if you have no knowledge in stock investing. Blue chip stocks such as Microsoft, apple, amazon are not bad options either. However, returns will be low compared to other stocks. 

If you want to explore a bit then try Datadog, Square and Albemarle. 

Stay away from all crypto except Bitcoin and ETH. All the rest are new and it is a pump and dump ponzi scheme in most cases.
