You mean health insurance ? 

If you are actually talking about life insurance  then nothing beats LIC . A pure insurance scheme without any unit linked investment component is best  

If it's health insurance plans , star health insurance has some plans specifically for 55+ . They require a few medical reports before giving a quote . It has pretty good coverage in south india , heard positive things about it 

I believe both require a few visits to the office
