Delhi shows TG its place - rejects all paddy demands.

HYDERABAD: The talks held between the Centre and the Telangana government in Delhi late on Friday to break the deadlock over paddy procurement ended in failure as the Centre reiterated that it would not purchase paddy from Telangana during rabi. It asked Telangana not to sow paddy during rabi season.

The talks were held between union minister for food and PDS Piyush Goyal and the Telangana delegation comprising ministers S. Niranjan Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Ch. Malla Reddy, chief secretary Somesh Kumar and senior officials of agriculture and civil supplies departments.

 

The state government put forth two major demands before the Centre. The first is to procure paddy from Telangana during rabi and the second is to declare annual paddy procurement target for Telangana clearly stating how much paddy the Centre will procure from Telangana during kharif and rabi seasons every year.

The Centre rejected both these demands and categorically stated that it would not purchase paddy from Telangana and it was also not possible to declare annual paddy procurement target in advance at present.

Piyush Goyal asked the state government to tell farmers not to sow paddy during rabi henceforth as the Food Corporation of India will not purchase it. Goyal also stated that the Centre would form a committee to recommend measures on crop diversification and prescribe MSP for various crops and until the committee report came, it was not possible to declare annual procurement targets for every state.

Why do you have this blind hatred towards Telangana? If you hate KCR and TRS, I can understand, but why Telangana and it’s farmers? Relax brother, farmers are same everywhere, be in in AP or MP. Today it’s TG paddy, tomorrow it might be AP’s crop, so don’t blindly hate the common man.

Where is hate toward telangana. I am saying delhi did injustice to telangana and the people who hyped up telangana state (telangana state is not same as telangana region) and its benefits could do nothing.

I am writing this in support of TG farmers. i think you misunderstood. I am always with telangana people and thats why i even bother posting this to show TG farmers are getting cheated and need justice. see all the langa warriors who spread hate between telangana peopel and their other telugu brothers keep quiet when it comes to these matters.

At the same time i also show TG state failed its purpose and is a bad idea completely.

BBC gave full documentary analysis on this. for decades, punjab supplied rice to country when country under droughts. Now they are also reducing rice and focussing on other crops.

TG is completely rice only that too para boiled rice producing in major quantities. TG suppose to produce 30 lcas of metric tonnes but it is giving 1 crore metric tonnes annually. Market lo no one is eating para boiled rice. have yuo seen anyone these days eating this lavu rice?

There is state govt failure - no doubt in that. Entire Langa movement they acted as if kostha is stealing their paddy which is complete lie. All that kaleswaram also is a useless project. But there is also delhi fault.

It goes both ways, you beggars are stopped again at Telangana border as your government doesn’t give 2Fs about farmers, you can’t even handle yours and crying on Telangana.  It is more over TRS wanting to prove that center is not buying and discouraging farmers to sow paddy in an effort to encourage alternate farming, they got what they wanted.

The Andhra Pradesh farmers faced a big jolt at the border of the neighboring state after the trucks carrying the crops were stopped by the police. This made the farmers wonder why the trucks with crops were not letting them enter the state without proper intimation or notice.

 

It was the Telangana cops who shocked the Andhra Pradesh farmers by stopping the trucks coming from the fellow Telugu state. It has been widely reported that the cops are not letting the trucks enter the state going by the orders they received from the higher authorities. Acting upon them, they are stopping the trucks.

The media reports say that the crop carrying trucks from Andhra Pradesh were stopped so that the paddy cultivated in Telangana can be given priority in the consumption. For the same reason, the vehicles were reportedly not permitted making the farmers fume at the neighboring state.

Severely objecting to what had happened at the borders, the Andhra Pradesh farmers asked for the reason why the vehicles were stopped without informing them in advance. They are not happy with the developments at the border. How can we stop selling our crops? We have been selling the crops in Telangana, they said.

The alleged development got a lot of significance as the Telangana development is waging a war with the Union government over the paddy procurement. With the Centre making its stand clear that it cannot procure the paddy, the state government is looking at alternatives, and giving topmost priority for the paddy grown in the state is one of them. The border issue might be one of them.

AP always had lower price for some Paddy varities , Millers buy them  here and sell it to TG govt at high prices 

I remember in 16,17 Nellore ki karimnagar Miller's vachi konuko poyaru . Nowadays only a few border distcts sell since TG also has lower price now that govt cannot buy everything 

Telangana needs to reduce rice farming on a large scale
