These are called padding movies that big actors do in between. They spend very little, make bakras out of 100s of wanna be producers who are willing to invest / donate money and also sell it to bakra first time exhibitors at higher prices. 

Once movie flops, they use it to write off profits ...show huge losses..

But what abt the bad name you get out of that bad film?

ala ayithe why not give chance to some new director or some short film director? why meher?

New director won't include the mass and masala that core fans want...also new directors want to make a good movie... Not a mass movie. 

Bad name? They have next 3 years booked, with good stories and directors lined up... They don't care...

Multiple chess moves are involved... These movies are released during slow period, usually sold to bakras ahead of the time etc... Typical story, 2 or 3 heroines, 1 or 2 are new  ( director and producer happy), 1 or 2 schedules, cheap locales etc... They make sure it has enough hype...say one or two good songs or a good villain etc..2 or 3 routine rotta mass dialogues..

Earn money on table , move on. Use the fake losses to offset real profits....

Boss,

They are not that dumb... Yes, it's possible that he gets it because he is friend... But rest of the equation is same... They are not dumb to know if they have a dud on their hand or not,..many many actors said they know if the movie is going to work or not after few days of shooting...

If not, editor can tell you or now days trailer and teaser are cut by some one else and they watch the movie multiple times to cut it... They can say if it's going to work or not

when was the last time you saw a movie by a big star that was good enough to know that it will be a hit? All big star movies are complete nonsense. unwatchable and cringe.

what they can make in movies, or can launder through movies by producing duds is way less than what they can make through their connections outside the film industry. Movies are for their PR and their stupid fans. hits are bonuses. ofcourse they'll claim a movie as hit if their fans like it. but mostly regular public don't give a rats assss about them.

They make bad movies because they have no choice than to entertain people like Meher Ramesh. Even if a new director is allowed to make movies with them, they will still try to interfere in the production because they are insecure. may be Rajinikanth is the only actor who just allowed the director to use him as canvas for his personal message in kabali and kaala. Or may be Mahesh Bob too in a few movies. But folks like Chiranjeevi are dumb and outdated and full of themselves.

its not some multi dimensional chess that they are playing here. movie industry's techniques, story telling has moved way past them, and they can't keep up. and they have a hard time retiring with grace.

once someone becomes a big star, that's it. his career is done. He's gonna make mediocre or horseshit movies by default. No director in the world can save them from that.

Agree with some, but how many proven commercial directors with some quality are there in Telugu? Sukumar, SSR ...They can only make a movie every 2 years .

I'm saying some movies are going to be ultra duds but they don't care.

Directors like Praveen sattaru would shine if they work with him.

PSV garudavega would have been block buster ... That movie is made with 5C ...
