Polio is eradicated and it took many decades to acheive that samara. They didnt come up with top class polio vaccine right away.

Any vaccine for that matter takes over 8 years to develop. Covid vaccine is fastest developed vaccine in the history of mankind and i'm sure it has its own shortcomings.

Remember, Flu and Covid cant be eradicated until we will develop herd immunity. Its either through vaccination or innate immunity. One way or another
