good Apts will be 2k+.. I am also looking around but nothing I liked so far.. pics looks good, when we dig in to reviews roaches, rats etc.. every apt I looked is above 2k..

  U may get at Irving but old apts..if u find any pls update..I doubt u will get at Plano, Frisco and other new communities..DFW is no longer cheaper..apt prices are equivalent to IL, NJ,VA..

colleague recently moved to austin from va..here he used to pay arnd 2k for brand new apt...now he is paying arnd 2300 for very old apt...and new one is arnd 2600 anta...

don't know about Job market & Payscale at TX ( DFW ), but ee rents like any major city suburb.. I am sure VA, NJ/NYC, IL pay more than TX.
